Patients can anticipate that their information will be handled with sensitivity, with the assurance that it will be kept confidential. Here are key points from our policy:

  • Staff will not disclose patient information outside of our organisation, except with explicit consent or for legal reasons.
  • All patient information is confidential.
  • Breaches of confidentiality is a serious offense and would be dealt with accordingly to internal processes.
 

Our Responsibilities:

  • Health professionals must protect patients’ privacy, only disclosing information when necessary for care, to protect health, safety, or well-being or legal reasons.
  • SDHC will ensure that all employees understand and maintain confidentiality.
