Covid Vaccination Service
SDHC GP Federation has played a crucial role in delivering the COVID-19 vaccination programme in East Sussex. Since December 2020, SDHC have coordinated and provided dedicated support to ensure the successful delivery of the vaccination programme for residents in East Sussex.
COVID-19 and flu vaccines for the Autumn Campaign.
We are pleased to announce our Autumn Covid and Flu Vaccination Campaign, aimed at protecting our community during the upcoming season.
The following groups are eligible for vaccination:
- Adults aged 65 years and over: Ensuring our older population remain protected.
- Residents in care homes for older adults: Safeguarding those in communal living settings.
- Individuals aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group: If you fall into a higher-risk category (as detailed in the Green Book's COVID-19 chapter), you are eligible for this essential protection.
- Frontline NHS and social care workers, and those working in care homes for older people: Protecting those who protect us.
Booking your appointment
We’re making it easier than ever to book your vaccination at a time and place that suits you:
Online Booking: Starting 23rd September 2024, our Eastbourne Vaccinations clinics will be bookable on the National Booking System (NBS). Appointments can be booked from 3rd October onward. You may also receive a text message from us with a direct link to book at various locations. Additionally, the NBS now allows group bookings, so you and a partner can book your appointments together.
To book at our main site, Hampden Park Health Centre, when prompted with the question on the NBS website "Do you also want to book a flu vaccine?", please select "Only book a COVID vaccine" to ensure availability at our location.
If you wish to receive the flu vaccine during your appointment, please feel free to ask the vaccinator on-site. They will check your GP practice registration to confirm your eligibility and, if eligible, the vaccine can be administered accordingly. If Hampden Park is not a suitable location, you may call our vaccine team directly to choose your preferred site. Details of how to contact our vaccination helpline can be found on this page.
Telephone Booking: For those who prefer to book over the phone or need assistance, our SDHC helpline will be available from 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday, beginning 23rd September. If you can't reach us during those hours, feel free to leave a voicemail, and we will aim to respond by the next working day. You can reach us at 01323 402530.
Satellite Clinics: We are expanding our reach with satellite clinics to serve you better. Details, including specific dates and locations, will be announced soon on this website and on our Facebook pages.
Walk-in Clinics: We understand that flexibility is key. That’s why we’re offering specific walk-in clinics on designated days for those who may not have the chance to book an appointment. Keep an eye on our website and social media for upcoming details. In some cases, we may also offer walk-in opportunities during our scheduled clinics, subject to availability.
For Housebound Patients: Our dedicated service will visit housebound patients from 3rd October 2024 to 20th December 2024. We will call you a few days before our visit to confirm your availability and well-being. If you miss our visit, you’ll receive a card through your door with instructions on how to reschedule.
Appointment Timing: To ensure that everyone receives their vaccination in a timely and fair manner, we kindly ask that you:
- Arrive on time for your booked appointment.
- Understand that we cannot accommodate people walking in without an appointment or those arriving at different times than scheduled.
We’re committed to providing a respectful and efficient service. Please note that we do not tolerate any verbal or physical abuse toward our staff. If you have any concerns or complaints about your experience, we encourage you to share your feedback at sdhc.feedback@nhs.net or through the survey on our iPads, available with assistance from our staff.
We Value Your Feedback: Your experience matters to us. At the end of your appointment or shortly after, you may be asked to provide feedback via a questionnaire or text message. Your insights—both positive and constructive - help us improve the service we provide. Please feel free to share your thoughts with any member of our staff during your visit.

If you require a certificate of your COVID vaccination, please be aware neither we nor your practice can issue this certificate. Find further information on the UK Government website
Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHS app (Please note third party apps may not display this info for you).
