Urgent GP Centre (UGPC):
Our UGPC works alongside the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) to offer timed GP appointments away from the Emergency Department (ED). This helps reduce waiting times, keeps the ED free for true emergencies, and ensures patients get the right care, in the right place.

Faster, More Appropriate Urgent Care
If your condition is urgent but not life-threatening, you may be offered an appointment with our experienced team of GPs and GP Registrars at a nearby site.
This is still part of your NHS urgent care journey – just in a more suitable setting.
Supporting the hospital
By supporting the hospital in this way, we:
- Help emergency teams see the most serious cases more quickly
- Provide a calmer, more focused GP-led environment for those who don’t need hospital treatment
- Ensure patients feel seen, heard, and supported
We work closely with local GP practices and the hospital to keep care joined-up and efficient. Our team is friendly, adaptable, and always looking to improve how we deliver care.
Whether you’re a patient, family member, or healthcare professional, our goal is simple: to make urgent care better connected, better delivered, and better for everyone.
