About Us

SDHC GP Federation was established in 2016 as a member organisation. We serve 22 GP practices and provide healthcare services to approximately 300,000 patients in the areas of Eastbourne, Hailsham, Seaford, Bexhill, Lewes and High Weald.

Over the years, SDHC has expanded its services, starting with the provision of pharmacists and paramedics through the GP Forward View.

It has since developed Extended Access Services, including the Weekend Care Home LCS, to delivering a highly successful Covid-19 vaccination programme. Additionally, SDHC can deliver a range of clinical services at short notice to address the demanding winter pressures and beyond.

In order to continue to maximally support NHS services, we now also provide private services which create profits we can reinvest in services that are free at the point of care.

What is a GP Federation?

Over the past decade, the NHS has implemented organisational reforms to promote collaboration among GPs from different practices, aiming to enhance primary care for NHS patients. At the core of these reforms are GP Federations, which play a crucial role in NHS primary care services. Essentially, a GP Federation is a collective of practices and primary care teams that work together to improve healthcare. They take on collective responsibility for the creation and delivery of high-quality, patient-centric services tailored to the specific needs of their local populations.
