Eligibility Criteria for the Spring Covid Vaccination

  • Adults aged 75 years and over
  • Residents in care homes for older adults
  • Individuals aged over 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed (as defined in tables 3 or 4 in the Green Book)

Online Booking

You will be able to book using the National Booking Service (NBS) from the 15th April 2024. These will be for our Eastbourne clinics that run from the 22nd April 2024 until 30th June 2024. You are now able to complete a group booking on the National Booking System (NBS). This means that partners can now book in for the same time.

Telephone Booking

SDHC will be manning a telephone helpline between 0930 – 1300 Monday to Friday, for those people with vaccine queries and for those who are unable to book their appointments via the National Booking Service. This helpline has a voicemail facility, so please feel free to leave a message and we will aim to respond to you the next working day. The number is: 01323 402530.

Satellite Clinic Booking

To save people travelling long distances to have their vaccination, we will be running Satellite Clinics at venues as set out below. Please note that throughout the campaign these dates may be subject to change; further dates will be added as the campaign progresses. Please check the website regularly for updates. If you live in Seaford, Hailsham and Bexhill, you will receive a text inviting you to book your vaccination. Please follow the link in the text to book your appointment.

Walk-in Clinic Attendance

We will be running specific walk-in only clinics on designated days for people who cannot book an appointment. These will be advertised on our website in the near future, and on social media sites. We may also on occasions, at our discretion, allow people to walk-in to a clinic without an appointment.

Housebound Patient Booking

The service will be visiting housebound patients from 15th April 2024 until 30th June 2024. We will contact you by telephone a few days before visiting, to ensure that you will be in and that you are well. There is no need to contact us to book an appointment unless you have missed our booked visit and received a card from us to that effect through your door.

Appointment Timing

Following patient feedback, to maintain fairness for those people who have booked their appointments in advance and to ensure that they receive their vaccination on time, we will not:

  • accept people without a booked appointment.
  • admit people attending at a different time to their booked appointment.

Please note that we do not tolerate any verbal or physical abuse to our staff. If you have any concerns, a complaint regarding your vaccination experience or our service, please do let us know using our secure online form or via the survey on our iPads, which one of our staff can help you with.

Feedback

At the end of or following your appointment, you may be asked to provide feedback on your experience. This could be via a questionnaire at the end of your appointment or via a text. We would be very grateful for your comments – good and not so good – as this allows us to further improve the service we provide. You are also welcome to give feedback on the day to any member of staff.

Evidence of Vaccination

If you require a certificate of your COVID vaccination, please be aware neither we nor your practice can issue this certificate. Find further information on the UK Government website

Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHS app (Please note third party apps may not display this info for you).
